The focus of the 6th annual LANSCE Neutron Scattering School is on phase transformations in bulk materials as investigated by neutron elastic and inelastic scattering. This years school will take place July 7-17, 2009. The application deadline is Monday, April 13, 2009.
This year's neutron scattering school is designed to be of interest to graduate level Ph.D. students and postdocs. Early career industrial researchers and advanced undergraduate students are also invited to apply. Applicants need not be U.S. citizens; however, preference will be given to students attending North American universities. The school will promote expansive knowledge of neutron scattering, illustrate applications of neutron scattering to solve problems related to phase transformations, and finally to provide hands-on opportunities to collect and analyze neutron scattering data.
