Strobel Appointed Staff Scientist at the Geophysical Laboratory

Tim Strobel has been appointed Staff Scientist at the Geophysical Laboratory, starting September 1, 2011. Tim has been a Research Scientist at the Geophysical Laboratory since October 2010, after joining the lab as a CDAC-Affiliated Carnegie Fellow in September 2008.

He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2008, where he studied the structure, stability, and dynamics of hydrogen clathrates. Tim's research interests include clathrate hydrates, molecular spectroscopy of isolated species, novel hydrogen storage materials, molecular thermodynamics, and the phase behavior and electronic structure of molecular systems.
